An achievement for “attempt 1 drill” doesn’t pop no matter how many drills I try. Anybody knows why?

I have the same problem. I’ve done everyone one that doesn’t require a membership.

I know the problem. You have to have a member ship to complete A drill chapter. You can only complete few of the steps on a drill chapter if you have no membership.
