@Batgirl deserved top blogger status. Most of those who have it do not.
That’s not the important part though. The second part about bad changes is the main point

I didn’t read that far. I’ve started reading the post three times. Too much whining in defense of someone who courted trouble with poor decision making.
I was looking for an old blog I saw a while ago that encapsulated this fairly well. I found it
The blunter the instrument, the less effort it takes to wield it.
The people employed at chess.com are, what's another way to say blunt... not very sharp.
We have a very vocal and opinionated generation of kids - the Gretas and the Tates. Let them fight it out. We'll just fade silently into the background.
Ok my say/do ratio has just taken a tilt, as the cool kids would say. Couldn't help myself

@Batgirl was a Top Blogger and even has some Articles posted as far as I'm aware.

That wasn't the point... the point was batgirl lost that status for "political" reasons.

Did @batgirl say somewhere why the status was removed? Or is that speculation?
"Top Blogger" appears as a banner in the user's profile, and batgirl doesn't have it.
As I recall she lost mod and blogger status either simultaneously or in the same week.
Like I was saying, blunt interments are very useful because the effect to energy cost ratio... the downside is you have casualties like batgirl.
Similarly a casualty of automod is Elroch being muted every few months.
And I have an urge to say...
"in b4 martin explains that the purpose of auto mod is to censor bad language and Elroch was unmuted."
Yes, but you see, telling the story of what happened while ignoring the point(s) of contention is absolutely not resolving the point(s) of contention. In fact when done frequently it starts to come across as dismissive and rude.

I believe that batgirl stopped being a Moderator by choice. As to the top blogger status, that's not something I have much insight into but unless something was mentioned by batgirl, it's just speculation as to why
batgirl stopped being a Moderator by choice
That is, without exaggeration, offensively false.
it's just speculation as to why
Try speculating why her status has been "Carrying a knife in my back...." for the last... two years, whatever it's been.
Ok so, let me take a moment to apologize for being so hostile... Martin is just doing the best job he can, and that's fine.
But in any case, Batgirl's story is not a happy one.
in one of the groups i'm in there has been some odd activity with one quitting and another changing his name-and then quitting! so, i go to the member list and see the same crap i mentioned months ago. numerous members show having last logged on may 14. one of these people has been dead over a year.
this is not a big issue. but, it is yet another in the long list of fails we see every day. it's as if it's a microcosm of the fails.
it seems the only people that care about this site functioning properly are those supporting it.

"Small cracks in uncritical places on an otherwise magnificent structure."
Is how I imagine Erik imagining it.
Sure it's annoying to have small issues, but maybe, for example, the recent pogchamps generated huge revenue.
