That means chess.com database now has 1 million entries of needless spam and that is just 1 thread. Now try and take into account the 5-10 attempts every day... And you wonder why the site crashes
Stop spamming please :]"
@Trion_Nemesis_1 was able to search for and spamm over 50 threads today in very short amount of time. Why can't a mod or staff do the same simple search and lock the old spamm threads to make it easier to keep up with new ones?
Its ridiculous that the site will not take action against a person that regularly and intentionally violates community guidelines.
It's 2023... a few 100 thousand single-character posts should not matter in terms of site stability... but ok, I keep forgetting we're talking about chess.com...
Still, notice how bare-minimum such rules are. "We only moderate posts that are illegal or crash the site." Wow guys, great vision for what you want the community to be... "it exists, good enough."
it's ok. @pianojames will quit soon enough, when real life comes with more of its own issues, and handling spam becomes no longer sustainable or important. how much can you love a site that doesn't love you back?
the spammers will win out by their persistence. spam is the content of the future.
what'd i say - ray charles
wut i say - ray chazz
wut wut in the butt - butters
slowly but surely ...
I guess I'll just go back to the peacefulness of the music threads. At least spammers haven't ruined them yet.

just a matter of time. just remember when the op of that topic quits, nobody can block the spammers.
weeds. EVERYWHERE.

That's a bit rude. You see, all I was doing, was asking the mods multiple things about counting topics. I just wanted to know the year they stopped allowing counting topics, and why counting topics aren't allowed; stuff like that.
@Pianojames said that the reason they don't allow counting topics is because it goes into a database and can become a lot for the server to handle if it is done a lot. The only reason I bump old spam topics and counting topics is because then they can lock the topics, and it can prevent anyone from bumping those specific threads in the future.
All I like to do is have a little bit of fun on chess.com and you always harass me really harshly after I bump some sort of topic or post some kind of topic. You don't have to always get annoyed with me after every single thing that I say on this site.
To be honest though, the reason why I bumped all of those spamming and counting topics were to prevent someone else from finding those specific topics and bumping them.
You are promoting said spam topics by putting them at the top of the list. You aren’t preventing anything, you are promoting it. Your excuse smells brown

That's dumb. You're a dumb kid. You're annoying.
Any other place online would have banned / muted / etc you. Chess.com is extremely lax.
I wasn't promoting them. If I was, it didn't matter because the mods locked all of those topics that I bumped yesterday.
Since I bumped them yesterday, they are now locked. Basically, I bumped those spam topics so they could get locked.
you are a slow study, trying to convince adults you are wise bumping those old dumb topics.
because they were locked doesn't mean you helped the community. they were already dead. all you did was bring more attention to the bile here, which will likely convince other 'wise' kids they need to start their own craptacular counting topic.
i hope staff notices a signficant difference here. this tool roams free adding to counting topics. said topics should be locked immediately and the op warned, muted, or banned. same with this guy bumping them.
me, i get muted repeatedly and am told i shouldn't curse-even though none of the mutes were for cussing. not even staff knows why the bot is muting me.
I found out today by pure accident that if you say.....I D I O T.....you WILL get muted. I was trying to point out that yrs ago, some people called their television the I D I O T box.
They let kids joke about having sex with each other but don't allow adults to say the word id|ot.

how does bumping a topic prevent bumping again?
By doing something that gets it locked
this circular reasoning fails.
by your 'reasoning', people should look for random crappy topics to bump in the hope they might get locked.
in reality, if a counting topic is dead, it's dead until some miscreant tries logic like yours. it also fails because there is an assumption that bumping every stupid topic will result in a lock.
why don't you and your brethren leave those topics in the dust bin and go outside and dig a hole. then fill it. then dig another hole. it's more productive.
Well I've put it back. This has happened before.

Aren't I a guest here? Is it ok for you to rummage through my belongings and remove what you feel like without notice?

Well I was roaming about then (not here) so I didn’t know but I remember that the @autobunny went missing before
Good
better best. just mention the kids and ...
Exactly. The recent posts in this topic from
@jaymitm and @eminekodoman
are non sequitur garbage.
Making this a comfortable place for kids means they spill into topics like this... so like I've been saying, when you don't have a vision for what you want to forums to be, the result is what we see today.
