So what? If you post four times in a row you are muted? Living in this age is dangerous

---   What some members are objecting to this " Idea " of a temporary block that also applies to your own threads after you enter the 3 posts. In other words you start up a thread, you monitor your own thread and then as a reward you get a temporary block ? ( until someone bumps the thread ). Yup your reward is to be blocked !!! That is to say: Thank You for your work and for stopping by, now you are blocked for taking an interest in your own threads and also for trying to keep things  interesting. I realize that the original idea was to reduce the problem of spamming however the main error was made when they included your own threads in the new policy. However it is even more upsetting for those of us who are Paying Members because now we have the immense pleasure of paying money to be blocked out of our own threads  LOL. ( & Thanks for the posts and the bumps ).

For paying members only an extra service is provided by the PTBA.

The PTBA's post to unlock your topic will be deleted by the PTBA after you have posted your next 3 consecutive posts.

It's a compromise to keep spammers at bay.

It doesn't work brilliantly and I found out the hard way .... I made three threads in a row as I sometimes do to keep comments neat, about two weeks ago. I couldn't make a fourth so I tried to edit it into the third and it wouldn't let me even do that because trying to post a fourth comment had screwed up the editing system so I had to copy my last two posts and delete them before I could paste them onto my second post and then edit it. Since then I've tried to avoid even making three in a row because

So effectively, we have a two post limit and I found that out just now by making three in a row and then trying to edit the second one. So it's a two post limit and a third one automatically starts a temporary block.

I now set you free.

---   Yes we are getting to the main problem as I see it: a) Posts that you leave in threads started by other members; b) Posts that you leave in Threads that You Have Started ( Your Own Threads ). This  new system that they have set up recently CANNOT tell the difference between these Two Types of posts. Okay so they want to try to keep you from spamming in threads started by other members, seems simple enough. However the whole new system went Off The Rails when they give you a temporary block in Your Own Threads !!! I can't see why they don't seem to be able to understand this point, it seems like they do not care about this type of error. Also those of us who are Paying Members now have the honour of giving them money to block us out of our own threads ( ie: blocked out of threads that we ourselves have created  ---  Just Unbelievable !!! ).

It does stop us bumping our own threads every three days.
