I don't like chess.com's abandonment policy

The strange thing is that if you are in a losing position in long games, and while your opponent is thinking: for example you leave the live screen to check messages,

Chess.com will consider it as leaving the game and you will lose.

that would make stalling more common tho (dealing with a staller rn)

maybe if it sees that your wifi is off or you disconnected it gives you a 3 minute grace period. plenty of time to reconnect on a phone if your on PC or relog online

The server can't see that and the server determines abandonment

oh I didn't know that. I thought the bar indicator at the top left indicated the players connection level but I guess I was wrong. thanks for the clarification.

Hello
BlueIQ

I have a rapid rating of 2100 and I can say that at my level the number of games I won in completely losing conditions is remarkable. .
.Because when I get frustrated I start setting traps and sometimes it works.. My opponent is not a grandmaster. He also makes mistakes like me sometimes..

That is the client determination of connection quality and can, on occasion, not accurately reflect connection issues

isn't there a way to optimize that for more accurate readings?

Code is constantly being worked on to improve site features.

Take as example a band I like,The Clash when band added a Chorus in spanish language in song "Spanish Bombs"...trying to say I love you on Spanish (Yo te quiero)chorus sounds many times as "yo te cuero/a". Cuero is leather on Spanish. Is ok.Strummer and Jones work vocals in Spanish Bomb song. Should Stay or Should I go also have lots of Spanish words in chorus. But what da Hell...Anyone look a punky of there or here asking for the complaint book to the band or stations ? Is there the teacher of The Wall song of Pink floyd to say to me "if you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding ?...I have to sing we dont need sarcasm neither education?

All my life accepting languajes impossed.Conquerors killers of the past imposing their languajes and culture.Thats the true story.Sorry.Also we received in one of best ways to people of all the world in my country ,but is not nationalism feel...Is only kindly feel for all world foreigns. We make a full effort to understand all cultures and good accepting and receivement. The aborigines of America and their idioms were exterminated. And Chocolate is a Mexican discovery. The Chocolate Cross all the visible and invisible "walls" of the planet. Can be easy copy and paste to seems a correctly speaker according to "social conventional norms" ...I just prefer being myself on my talk "bad" politically incorrect style...but my own.Do not minimize the attitud of bully or mockery to foreign people

Give him a break not everyone can speak English fluently! He's trying his best to learn a very confusing language at times.

I'm trying to, I just genuinely don't understand. I'd prefer he speak his mother tongue so that I can get a more coherent response. Not trying to offend, just trying to understand.

PennsylvanianDude

I see. English is hard! Not for me I'm a native speaker but for someone not from an English-speaking country English is very difficult to learn.

I'm a cuban-american (born) so my first language is spanish. English is very difficult and I just hope that the other gentlemen can elaborate in a manner that I can understand. I truly want to know what he is saying and understand him and did not mean any harm whatsoever.

PennsylvanianDude

He's from Argentina so he probably speaks Spanish which you will understand better than bits of English here and there.

PennsylvanianDude

I know you mean no harm. Just asking for clarification.

StandStarter

Hence the asking of his speaking of his mother tongue.
