If you don't want me to abort games, don't match me with new accounts.
I respect and appreciate the huge amount of work that Chess.com puts into fighting the unwinnable war against cheaters. However, the situation in rapid is still what it is. It would go a long way for my user experience if I wasn't made to feel like the bad guy for practicing hygiene when it comes to accepting who I will play with.

I used to play against many cheaters and get several fair play notifications a week from Chess.com, these days I get much fewer. What has changed? I got better at checking out a person's account for red flags before accepting a game, and the #1 red flag is an account less than a couple years old.

My account is 11 years old. Please, I would rather wait 10 minutes for a real game than to be matched with 6 month old accounts. Rapid is hard and it's a time commitment. Chess.com knows better than anyone how detrimental the PERCEPTION of cheating is even beyond the cheating itself.

Ideally I would be able to opt in to playing against accounts within a certain age range of my own. I understand that there may be considerations for the effect of that on the rating pool, but I strongly believe those are considerations and not excuses.

Short of that, it would go a long way for my user experience not to quickly receive messages and penalties from the platform for doing the one thing within my power to improve my matchmaking experience.

Today for instance I matched with several young accounts in a row and aborted. Naturally, one game after having lost my ability to abort, I am paired with a 1hr old account with perfect accuracy. [link removed- justbefair]

As a practical half-measure which I think could be implemented, I would like to see some intelligence in the "abort violation" system which is recognizant and more lenient towards established accounts in good standing preferring not to play with younger accounts.

I understand your frustration but allowing free use of aborts leads to a lot of problems too. I remember when games would be repeatedly aborted at the start. I think a lot of people just wanted to play white.

I hope you will continue to report accounts that you think are cheating.
