Is 1:00 am EDT (New York time) a chess.com witching hour?

I have noticed several times now that at almost exactly 1:00 am EDT it is impossible to start a new game. Is there some sort of system reset going on then?

I think it's scheduled site maintenance. Not only can you not start a game but all timed games get aborted. It's really frustrating. I just made a post requesting some kind of warning about scheduled maintenance.

There's often a scheduled live server restart weekly around that time.

Oouch. I was literally about to play checkmate on my next move when the game aborted. Looking at time, it was 1am EDT. Another chess lesson.
