They’re better for the millions of players that actually play chess. The only people who don’t like them are the few amount of people who are active in the social side of chess.com. This format is much better, and should stay.

Agreed.
You have to keep in mind that this a chess site, and that only a small percentage of people here use it socially. So this is a good change for the site as a whole.
