My opinion on match finder and anticheat

After playing chess.com for a few years this is my opinion on match finder and anticheat. They both suck and need to be heavily worked on to improve. My experience with the anticheat is just plain awful! My original account got closed for using 3rd party help when I never used 3rd party help! I tried appealing it and support said that their anticheat detected it and anticheat is never wrong. Let me break the ice for you, IT IS WRONG. Not only that but even the report future does not work as each time my opponent moves looks too suspicious for the rank they are in I show it to my friends and they agree it's suspicious. I also have a friend who trained an AI that detects cheating and it's smarter than the current chess.com AI as the chess.com AI gets more than 50% wrong meanwhile his AI gets at least 95% right! That was my opinion on the anticheat, now my opinion on the matchmaking is also bad because each time I press play I am basically gambling and my chances are 50% that it will be someone using a 3rd party cheat and 50% that it will be some high division loser that somehow got matched up against someone in the lower tiers who does not play competitively and only plays just to take a small break from something so they are guaranteed a win. Another thing is that everyone that you match against is either a robot or knows how chess works but not chess.com because when I need to get back to something and don't want to forfeit I ask for a tie and either they automatically decline or stall and say nothing about it forcing me to continue playing. This was my opinion on both of these topics and on the current status of chess.com support they only care about their diamond users and high leaderboard users which makes the F2P and Noncompetitive players like me not only not be able to learn new things about chess but it also completely trashes the game of chess making people not want to play anymore. It would help make chess.com better if they could fix all of these issues and stop prioritizing Paying/Leaderboard players.

If you report an account and they are not banned and it's been a while since being reported, then either

  • There's not sufficient evidence of cheating
  • There's no evidence of cheating

There's also not anywhere close to 50% cheating at any level

The site closed 56,000+ accounts in April for fair play violations and has a full team of staff working on reports along with some automated systems for detection.
