New Feature Suggestion: Be Able to Play Variants Against the Computer

I find it hard sometimes to find an opponent for some of the rarer variants (especially courier chess, XXL chess, etc.). If possible, I believe that chess.com should add the ability to play variants against the computer. +1 if you agree!!!

I think that there are useful, easier to implement request that are ignored, some of them for years. Like mark videos as viewed.

But in the future I hope for it, because then more players learn variants and then more players would play them.

yeah that's a great idea! keep generating these innovations, and the chess community will be much the better

A nice idea, I definitely think it's worth making a feature request with Help->Make a Suggestion

It's as hard to make an AI for a variant as it is for vanilla chess. Because even a trivial change to the regular game can radically change the validity of various strategies.
Probably the only way that this feasible is if they implement a generic deep-learning engine that can be run on a given variant and play itself a bunch.

Obviously chess.com wouldn't implement (or install) such an engine just to support the OP's feature. But they may be working on such a thing in general, as it is on the sexier end of chess AI right now, and would allow a number of desirable features.

This is a good idea. Currently the only variant you can play is Chess960 VS the bot. I'd love to play 3 check VS the computer. Whether this is financially feasible for chess.com though is the problem.
