Pawns not showing up

This afternoon, I encountered a glitch I had not seen before today:  When I go into my Daily Chess games, the pawns frequently are not displayed on the board.  I've had the same problem in Live Chess, though I did not start a game (I only looked at the default start position that it shows when you first go into Live Chess, and did not see any pawns).

Sometimes they show up, but sometimes they don't.

Possibly a cache issue. Try clearing the cache if you see it happen, then refresh the page.

Same here, clearing cache did not resolve the issue

Same here also, no result from clearing the cache. It is the black pawns specifically that do not show up in puzzles for me.

I can't recreate on puzzles. Are you running any plugins, such as an ad blocker? You might try the site under a private/incognito tab, which will completely rule out a cache issue.

yep, same here. seems to be a sitewide bug that's affecting some, but not all, players.

Perhaps the pawns found out they were more likely to be slaughtered than ever becoming a queen?

My issue is that white bishops are not displayed.  

Not only are our pawns not showing up but my opponents Rook is being treated as a Queen, putting me in check along the A7-G1 diagonal. 

I have the same problem with the black queen apparently it was located on the h5 square. 

Seems like an interesting motif but worth much more rating points than 400.

Edit: I can move the black queen once i have located it. I don't know if this is also the case with you guys?

I found a workaround by switching to other pieces in settings.  Many styles are missing pieces, but a few are complete.  

I have missing peaces too today in (daily chess games) or all opponent pawns are GONE ... or other game all my Pawns are gone ... if I hit how the game started I miss Bishops or Knights ... WEIRD BUG ... 22-10-2019 ... Why is CHESS(dot)com not reporting this problem on the front page?

Staff is aware and looking into it.

I'm glad I found this thread.  I was going crazy trying to fix it.... clear history/cache, updated Adobe Flash, played around with various options and Firefox Add-ons.  Nothing worked.

Never seen anything like this before. I just played my first game of PARTLY blindfold chess. I did not enjoy it. 

Guess I'll try Bubba's suggestion of trying different styles and see what happens.  Any particular style that's working for ya?

BS and FU to all who blame it on users. I have great state-of-the art ISP, up to date Firefox on $1G 1 yr old Lenovo. I just lost 3 games bcaus opponent's queen bcame invisible. Also it prohibited legal moves.

Guess when you are a monopoly like PG&E, Bell Telephone, or General Electric you can doobie whatever you want.

Normally, missing icons/pieces are a cache problem. This time it seems more widespread but isn't impacting everyone.

Staff is aware and looking into it.

Classic ain't working for me, but Light is.  So is Dash, whatever the hell that is.

I'M sure this will be corrected quickly and my donation from a year ago will be refunded in a timely manner if not.
