People Abandon Games

I play chess mostly on another app, but recently created an account here. It seems almost everyone who begins losing abandons the game. This doesn’t happen as much on other apps. On the other app there’s two things i noticed. It’s easier to press the resign button. It’s pretty easy here too, but it’s within a menu of several other items. I think the biggest thing is that this app doesn’t save chat logs. On the other app, after you’ve played a few hundred games, you’re likely to run into some of the same players. You can tell this because when you open the chat log you can see an indication of previous games (gg, 🤝 , etc.) or getting called out for abandoning. I know this because i abandoned games on the old app and would run into the same players and would be slightly embarrassed.. so i stopped doing that. I think preserving the chat log really increases the level of sportsmanship.
