Per move time control

I would like to see a form of time control that limits time per move rather than a global timer. For example having a 60 second per move which resets back to 60 after every move made. there could also be an "extension budget" that allows one to go past the per move time limit but the time granted is never gained back (ex: 60|120 - move 1. 10 sec, time available after: 60|120 m2. 80 sec t.a. 60|100 m3. 40 sec t.a. 60|100.) such a time control would allow for long games while forcing a higher tempo. personally while I enjoy longer time limits, having opponents take 3 minutes to make a move, or worse, abandon the game leaving me to wait out an 8 minute abandonment timer can be very grueling.

What you are talking about is Bronstein delay.  Chess.com uses Fischer delay.

Personally, I do agree with you, Internet chess should have its own style of delay, since Internet chess has its own issues.
