@mgt3 you were right on the money. I WISH these kinds of things were communicated better.....like “members please note there is a new experimental upgraded version of analysis out now. Please ensure you are in the beta club to experience. Just a newsflash on homepage. But no communication. Well none that I saw.

flashlight002

It could be a communication even by the site’s social media channels like twitter or Facebook. Ay.

@mgt3 I will run some tests on mobile and see how my devices and browsers react etc.

Logically if one runs a new scan with higher depth then the most up to date accuracy score coming out of this scan should reflect in the accuracy column in the archive accuracy column. Also the new scan should be the one that opens when one clicks the game analysis.

Regarding what I have explained in my post #516...Support (Shaun: head of Customer of  Services) are are aware of this and will need to work with dev to fix the "daily games landing page" accuracy column to be in sync with the archive page.

To @erik and his dev team who have found a way to give us a way to run deeper scans: thank you! Thank you for your hard work and thank you for listening to your loyal customers too.

I haven't had the time yet to run many scans yet but I tested it against a recent difficult game that had already been analysed at the standard d=20. The results showed I had 1 blunder (cost me the game) and my competitor 0 blunders. When I ran the special manual d= 30 scan it gave a new picture! Now the new scan showed my competitor had also made 1 blunder. A different picture!

@erik I have 1 question: why is the d=30 feature seperate and a manual option? Is it because it has to make use of local client resources?

Hi all. Perhaps someone can shed light on what is going on! I haven't done game analyses in a while or used the analysis board so only noticed this now!

Now when I click on the gear icon in the analysis tab in a game analysis I get the OLD engine analysis settings dialogue box. The same thing happens in the analysis board which is in the learning section of the site.

26 days ago if one was a Beta member one got the following amazing settings dialogue box shown below, where one could change the full game analysis depth from 20 to 26 and one could even perform a d= 30 game analysis! It looked like this...with tabs for controlling "analysis", "interface", and "board":

Now when I click the gear icon it looks like this below...the OLD engine analysis settings dialogue box....with NO WAY to adjust full game analysis depth, or run a manual d= 30 Scan!!

I have tested on Android, iOS and Desktop Windows 10 and it's the same on all platforms! The new engine analysis settings dialogue box is gone!! Replaced with the old settings menu!!

I thought maybe it was a Beta membership glitch so I took myself out of Beta and rejoined, but that did nothing. The old menu still came up!

So what is going on?

notmtwain

Why don't you ask this in the Beta forum?

flashlight002

@notmtwain good idea. I chose this thread because all the ideas we put forward gave birth to that new engine game analysis settings page and because @erik announced its birth in this thread. I in fact found out about it in this thread  (see higher up). I was so excited when I saw that new engine analysis settings dialogue after a VERY long wait! And I tested it and it worked great!

I have not been very active on the site for weeks now so never ran a new game analysis till this week...when I then suddenly saw that the "new" engine analysis settings dialogue box had reverted back to the ancient original settings dialogue box with no drop down menu to set game analysis depth from 20 to 26 (I think the choices were 20, 22, 24 and 26) and the amazing ability to run a d=30 scan was also gone! Now 26 days on and it's all gone!?

It felt like we took a giant step forwards with that new engine game analysis settings dialogue page and it's choice of scan depths and then when I now saw the old settings page back in its place like we had taken 100 paces backwards.

Hence I thought that the role players in this thread had an idea what had happened? Do you?

But I will post this in the Beta Club too

Hi all. Quick question to @dallin and @erik: is the new analysis system now running with the latest Stockfish 11? The developers of Stockfish say they have made hundreds of improvements and fixed many bugs...which can only improve and strengthen the chess.com analysis system if it now runs off Stockfish 11.

I await your feedback.

According to the the analysis settings, under engine, it is 10. Since it just came out, it will probably be a little while before it is available on site.

Hey Martin happy.png

Ok fair enough. Stockfish 11 rocks btw. happy.png

The sooner they integrate the better in terms of accurate analysis.

But thanks for the feedback! I should have looked in settings...but thought that maybe the cloud based section could maybe already be running off Stockfish 11. In any case I look forward to an update some time in the near future.

paulouf

hi all,

I confirm that I see the same inaccuracies with the game analysis.

Any development on this by any chance?

That would be very helpful if this could be fixed!

Thanks

Paul
