I never encountered this vacation feature until today, and it is terrible. Do not take games if your vacation will get in the way. I play these games as my mini-vacations from the daily grind. Not to have a tactic or strategy rolling around in my head for 2 months while someone decides to go on vacation. We pick the time limits we do from the start. It should be a tight standard.
Daily games can last months and daily tournaments can last years. There's going to be times that vacation is needed during those timespans.
It is highly unlikely vacation time will ever be removed. The ability to create no vacation seeks has been requested a lot in the past and is the most likely to happen at some point so members that don't want the possibility of vacation can have that as an option.
