Restriction for new users play in turnaments

Hello. From turnament to turnament I see at top places new users with date registration one day. They play as GM. For me they are mostly dirty cheaters. How about restrict new users to participate in turnaments for about one month or play 300-400 games. If user uses pc engine for calculating moves, he obviously would show it andwould be banned for good.

I am originally from lichess.org and just came here to check out the site. This is not a problem on lichess since you need to play atleast 30 rated games of the particular variant to play a tournament of that particular variant. I would suggest Chess.com to do the same since tournaments are filled with new players who do not have a good rating but play well. This hinders play since they are paired to people who have the same rating ( who are much lower than their level of play).

This is the sole responsibility of the TD!!

They should only allow tournaments to be open for those who have played 1000 bullet, blitz or rapid games or 100 daily games previously and the account has to be at least 60 days old

1000 is a bit too much. assuming the player plays something like blitz (3+0), that would amount to around 5000 secs= 83 hours approx. Tournaments should be accessible to the new players but should not be too easy. They should not be allowed to just create a new account and play a tournament. A range of 50-100 rated games should be fine.

The Tournament Director has a feature where he can set a minimum amount of completed games - sometimes I have zero minimum, but sometimes I put the minimum at 30 or 100.

Of course, this means you will get people with more stable chess ratings.

However, there are often players who come into the tournament that have had their account dormant for six months and have improed a lot since.

One thing I used to do 2-3 years ago was run tournaments with "Max out ratings." This was designed to justify me expelling new accounts and dormant accounts that would shoot up hundreds of Elo points. I used it regularly.

I stopped because I knew of two reasons:

- In one instance, someone sincerely told me that they had improved around 100 points over the course of the year (it was a long tournament) and it felt bad removing them.

- It was a lot of work with very little thanks. Nobody ever said, "Geez, I really appreciate this guy who sets max tournament rating at 1200 and, in between rounds, systematically removes players that go above it by a lot..!"

I will consider starting a few tournaments with this design again if I receive some feedback here encouraging me to do so.
