Revert Puzzle Difficulty Setting

I agree, the whole point of a rating system is to get puzzles tailored to your ability.
If people want to just do easy puzzles, add an unrated mode.

The main problem I have is that my puzzle rating is currently about 3100. My max was something like 3260. But now I'm being given puzzles with ratings like 1300 and yet the puzzles are much much tricker than that. So if I get one right, I only get 5 points. But if I get it wrong, I lose like 24. I set the difficulty to extra hard and I'll still get a puzzle rated 1700 and then the very next one is like 3200, then the third one goes back down to 1900. I tried voicxing this as a complaint or a bug feature but chess.com never responded.

The puzzle database has enormous problems that accumulated in the last 5 years since chess.com abandoned maintaining it (and promised that they will come up with something new, which never happened). The current change does nothing to address any of the issues, instead it creates even bigger chaos.

The code behind puzzles must have been broken somewhere, no way this is intended... Hopefully they fix it fast.

There is already an unrated mode where you can select the difficulty range. But I totally agree.

Remove the difficulty slider please. it sucks. Just let it be the same as it was before. The slider does not make sense at all!

I am ok at chess, but I definitely should not have went from 3300 to 3500+ Puzzle Elo by grinding the 2500-3000 Puzzles fed to me due to this change. The slider is awful and does not change the difficulty of my queued puzzles at all.
The main reason to get the summer deal gold membership was to do more puzzles. I don't know how this has been going on, but they are extremely easy now. I checked Reddit and noticed I was not the only one. I then checked the puzzle history and noticed the puzzles are way lower (800-1400) than my actual level (2400). This removes the fun. Please fix this. I btw only use mobile to play chess.com
I agree with all the complaints here. Put back the old system--puzzle difficulty increased if you're rating increased, with a lot of randomness too. My rating was meaningful. Now it's useless, and I'll be looking for another chess site soon.

Yes I strongly agree, most likely won't be doing my puzzles on this platform anymore if it isn't fixed.
It's a good thing when someone's puzzle rating actually means something, even if it isn't as perfect as regular game elo for determining someone's skill, previously if someone had x puzzle rating, you have a rough idea of their tactical skill. Now you can have someone 3000+ in puzzles who would have been 2000 before. So the number has lost all meaning.
I don't mind if there's a slider but it shouldn't count towards puzzle rating if someone uses it. Or make an alternate rating or something. Probably the best thing to do is to just put it back to how it was, I don't see why this needed to be changed and I think it makes the whole thing kind of pointless for tracking progress

Stop doing puzzles until it gets corrected.
Even on the hardest setting the puzzles are easier than before this update .

Are you doubting my puzzle rating of 4100+???? Clearly I learned so much as to increase my previous rating of 2650 from before the change went live! But in reality, yes please change it back to the old way. I've started looking into other sites for my puzzles because of this change, and puzzles was a huge reason for my membership (but not the only). Consistency is key to comparing improvement and tactical abilities of different players. Why wouldn't you put a vote out to all players who use puzzles the most to see what they think of the change BEFORE implementing it?
I have always preferred Chess.com to Lichess, but I strongly dislike the route Chess.com has taken with adding a difficulty slider to puzzles. It makes rating completely meaningless and I can no longer compare my puzzle rating to others to get a gauge on how good I am compared to them at spotting tactics.
I understand the need to innovate. It's chess after all, it's been the same for a thousand years, but I don't think this is the route to go.
In my opinion, the only thing that should impact how difficult the puzzles you get are is your rating. If you're 2,000 rating, you should be hunting for tactics that are from real games between 2,000 rated players and lower, with a healthy mix between the type of puzzle and complexity level.
Rating was really my only way to gauge my progress and now it's meaningless. I had been hard stuck and thought I was improving, only to find out you have changed the entire system.
Please at least give us the ability to disable the new system and revert back to what it was.
