"Self-Analysis" Review

Hello, I am writing this as a form of constructive critism with regards to a feature in this site, and that's the "Self-Analysis" option after each game. I honestly think it's a minor issue, but I feel like writing this in the hopes of fine-tuning this feature or at least be reprimanded incase I wasn't paying attention and just missed something with the settings -- so help me.

First of all, I am a casual adult improver who likes to play rapid games, usually the 15+10 time control is what I play. After each game I like to scan through my games with the engines turned off first, so it annoys me that each time I try to skim through my games, I can see the evaluation bar on the left part of the board, and the "lines" are immediately turned on after I click "self-analysis".

I don't know if I missed a setting or I've been using chess.com's confusing interface the wrong way. But I'd appreciate it if the engine isn't defaultly turned on each time I review my games, and still see the evaluation bar even if I checked "Self Analysis" and turned off "Show Lines" checkbox.

I mean, if everything is on the interface and I just missed it, then keep the interface user-friendly at least. I am sure a player-funded site like this can do better than free ones. I like this site mainly because of the large playerbase and some interesting features such as the forums and news, but my goodness the interface is confusing meh.png

TLDR: How to keep the engines off during "self-analysis?"

If you go to your games list and click on a game (make sure your mouse pointer is not close to the analyse link it will let you go through the moves either manually by pressing the right arrow or automatically by pressing the play button.

Here's a recent one from your games list:

Alternatively if you do click on the Self-Analysis button you can turn off the evaluation bar by hitting the settings button near the top right of the board, go to interface, and there's several options there you can disable or enable including the evaluation bar.

Thanks! I got to explore a bit noticed that in the settings (gear icon) under the dropdown box where you can choose which engine to use, you may choose "Engine Off" and it hides the evaluation bar. It's even more unnecessary clicks for my taste, but I am happy that the option is at least there happy.png

Apparently my move was considered “incorrect” on this chess puzzle. My move was Qa1+ which the engine rates as best, but the “correct” move is Qa3+. How do I report this and get more points on my puzzle rating?

A record of 20 19 1 got 49 48 3 percent? Since when has 1 out of forty been 3% or twenty of forty 49% ? Not any big deal, just curious.
