"Sorry, that form was old. Please try again later." WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN??

I just scroll down and click post again and it works just like normal 🤷‍♀️

Thanks!

What causes it?

I mainly see it on first page load of a new post after being inactive for a while. I don't know specifically what causes it but probably an old cached form (post box)

Ahh thanks, that makes sense!

I just post it again and it's fine.

This is the least thing I mind actually, because it is the only glitch that saves what you already typed in the box. Everything else, banner warnings, random loss of connection, accidental refresh..etc, all delete everything. I'm starting to get into the habit of cntrl C-ing every paragraph or so when typing a long post, so if it does get randomly nixed I can just plop it back in where I left off. Have a clipboard full of random pieces of comments lol let's clear it.

Exactly.

The ugly details, just because I'm bored probably.

It would be a waste of bandwidth for your browser to constantly update the page (while you're writing your comment), so it uses a stored copy, in your "cache". To prevent errors, like comments appearing in the wrong order, "Sessions" expire after a set period of time- to account for changes in the page, like other users adding comments. It's not exactly a bug, but a better program would just refresh the page and add your comment when you hit "post", instead of noticing it has a stale page, bothering you with an error message, refreshing the page, then making you hit "post" again. happy

At least it doesn't delete all your text like the red banner warnings do for 1 word..
