Start date: Ask an Admin???

Some team matches have a start date. Others tell me to ask an admin. Why don't all team matches set a start date? How can I plan for a start date if one isn't given? I'm not referring to tournaments, just team matches. (If I've posted this to the wrong forum, please forgive me and recommend the proper forum.)

Let me explain, in a chess.com team match when it says ask an admin, it means the other team admins will decide when the match starts.

By locking their side when they think they have enough players, then your team will also need to lock your side, so that the match starts.

When a challenger doesn't define the start date while issuing a team match challenge; it appears as 'Ask an Admin'.

There are two ways to start the match...

1. If the challenger has defined a maximum number of players while issuing a team match challenge and 'Auto-Start' is On, then the match starts AUTOMATICALLY when the lineup reaches that number on both sides.

2. If the maximum number of players hasn't been defined while issuing a team match challenge, then the admins of both clubs need to 'Lock Registration' to start the match MANUALLY once they're satisfied with their own clubs's lineup.

Thanks for responding, folks. I've never set up a team match, so I never saw things from that perspective. It makes sense now. Cheers!

You can also set the match to start at a certain dateIf you click on this the option will open to choose a start date
Then just select the day you want the match to start, probably in about a week so that members have a chance to join.
