Suggestion: Bot with programmable openings

Help Chess.com devs, hope you’re doing well. Just wanted a feature where I can play a bot that will go for opening of my choosing. I think this would help players practice tactics against openings they’re interested. For example, I like playing the KID and it would be great if I could have a bot always play the four pawns attack against me.

Thank you!

This feature is already available.

Go to Learn - > Analysis.

Move the pieces to your opening.

Then select "Practice vs. Computer" on the lower right hand side.

On this screen, select "Change Bot" on lower right side, to the left.  Select the bot you want to play against and presto.

I've been trying this (with your method and by doing practice vs computer from the opening explorer) but I seem to always get White against the computer - is there a way to do it so I get to play as Black? Thanks.

Never mind - for anyone wondering, there is a 'switch sides' button in the bottom right when playing against the computer.

I agree with the original poster. This would be a great feature to have. The solution as described isn't much of a solution if it's unknown and complicated to set up.  I believe he was indicating that he'd like to practice against a bot that will play specific openings in order to practice against them.

I agree.

A Bot that ( just) plays specific openings would be good.

A low level/rated bot could stick to mainlines...at higher levels  some could  go for specific variations...while others could mix it up a bit.
