Can you at least use a smaller font with those caps?
But he was aiming for maximum disruption. Should have been red and bold as well.

I apologies. Sometimes I forget that some of the members around here are a little impaired.
Hiding images by default is already implemented in DMs for anyone that is not on your friends list.
How difficult would it be to apply that to the general forums?

Ah, I had never seen that before or heard about it prior to this topic.
Not sure about using it for the general forums. It would likely require a setting so members could disable it if they don't want to hide images by default, unless it only applied to accounts under a certain age.
It would take like 1 line of code to prevent new accounts from posting images in the first place. Incompetent, irresponsible, etc etc
It makes sense to me to make it to where you have to have an open and active account to be able to post pictures. Like how on Discord, you have to earn the right to post pictures and videos in servers. But why deprive 10- minute-old accounts the right to post whatever they want?
Basix! What if a typing-impaired new member who has potential to become a diamond paying member is only able to communicate a problem through stick figure drawings and they leave the site and chess.com loses money?!

Just reminded me of the 1 basic rule I had for sales teams, that they know enough about the product at least as much as the users. Should be part of onboarding training and post release training.
Don't know if that should apply to mods and staff, but just putting it out there.

Stick figures and ascii art can be amazing. This comes to mind, although not directed at anybody.

Bunny! My eyes! I've never seen a more offensive and traumatizing image on this site anywhere, amazing example of how image banning new users won't work, sadly.
Are they going to tell us what's being done about this issue or are they just going to keep it a secret from us. There's a strong likelihood that nothing is being done about it, though.
If I created a website, I would feel a sense of responsibility for the things that were posted on it, it being under my control. However, cc is now beholden to its investors and employees to make a large profit, and they're not going to let a little thing like the abuse of their members alter their business model or practices. Meanwhile, they will censor individual users for mentioning wars and genocides around the globe.

They do not censor posters who simply talk about wars and genocides around the globe. They censor posters that get on a soapbox about it (or sometimes posters who indirectly promote things by making a clear safe space for talking about it).
It's not your platform. Stop pretending it should be a social media hub for your pronouncements regardless of topic. There are websites for that...hey, I hear that Facebook is returning to the stone ages ala X, maybe you should try that.
