Could not any message be given about muting before doing it?
NO WARNING , NO MESSAGE , JUST A STRAIGHT FORWARD MUTE
IT IS LIKE THE BEST WAY TO LOSE MEMBERS FROM SITE

As posted previously, your friend need to contact support directly or have a parent/guardian to do and include the contact email that is on the account.
