Your Move notifications

Seems like the notifications have changed and instead of saying my opponent played a move and giving the algebraic notation of the move, now I get "*opponent's name* moved their queen". Ok great, but to where? Small inconvenience to have to open the app and look at the game to see the actual move made, but is there a setting I'm missing to only get the move coordinates?

For those seeing that format, there's no setting to change it

Are there plans to change this? It's annoying that I don't get that anymore ☹️

I don't know what the plans are for that. Staff may roll it out to everyone, may decide not to implement it, or could make a configurable option.

What would even be the motivation or benefit of this change? I guess it forces you to launch the app to visually verify the move instead of being able to just visualize it in your head. So the site gets an extra hit from me - good for them? It is indeed a seemingly small thing, but piled on all the other dumb changes it really needles me because of its lack of necessity and utility.

Oh well. Not a huge deal, just wondered if there was a way to change it really. Anyway, thank you for the reply.

Not to mention that it isn’t even consistent. I’ve gotten the notification in other languages. It seems to be based off of the opponent’s chosen language, not your own. So, some of my opponents have had their move notifications sent to me in different languages I don’t understand.

I have the same problem, and I'm trying everything to get it back the way it was. So I really hope this is something that can be changed soon.

If enough who don't like it tell chess.com via support they will know their users' opinion on it. Do as I did and submit a report to them for feedback

Good morning, I would like to ask if it would be possible to add in the next update a notification option regarding the daily games, so that you can choose to view the notification with algebraic coordinates or simply the generic move as in this latest version of the app. I ask this because I think it is useful to read the coordinate of the notification to train the mind, trying to visualize in mind the move made by the opponent, thank you very much!!!

My apologies for the numerous 3-Day games I just lost on time - games that had barely begun. I'm used to getting notified via email when I'm running out of time, but that feature is no longer active, a significant change I will be aware of pre-game in the future.
