2 New Tournament Formats

I have two ideas for new tournament formats: 1. Ladders (challenge players 1 or 2 rungs above you on the ladder), perhaps with a different ladder in each group (enabled with group admin checkbox). 2. End-game tournaments, where TD could set up an endgame to use as the starting position. Would probably need a separate end-game rating or force all end-game tourneys to be non-rated (I'd like the separate rating, myself!).

Some of the groups have had ladder tournaments going for quite a while, but I don't know how you'd find out which groups aside from checking one by one.

Yes...but I understand the group admin has to manage all the details himself...scheduling games, getting results, adding/removing players from the ladder listing, moving players up and down the list, etc. It would save everyone a lot of time and effort if chess.com handled these mundane tasks with a computer database.

The reason I'd like the end-game tourney format is that I don't get enough practice with end games, and a tourney would force me to think about that aspect of my game more.

These things do have to be done manually for now (and automation would be nice), but the tasks don't have to be done by the admin.  The ladders I saw were handled in a forum devoted to the ladder, and the organization/running part could be done by any group member who volunteered.
