I have an ad blocker script on my browser, so the site showed no ads. I rooted my Android phone, so the mobile program had no ads.
I looked at my games from my work computer and I wad disgusted by how many ads they have.
In the end, I ended signing up because they did have enough content to make me want to sign up for the site. I'm still unsure whether it is worth it. (No chess videos unless you're on the highest payment level? please!), but I figure I'd give it a try.
If you don't want the ads, maybe it will be worth it for you?
Since this site started trying to upgrade it's income by posting adds on the app and everywhere else I thought that I would post a warning about what happened to me. If you are using the mobile app and you touch one of the adds it can charge your phone 9.99 plus tax whether you allow the add to finish loading in whatever it is or not.
Using advertisers such as that is a blantant rip off of your customer base. Since you are looking for money from the users or advertisers in the first place it boils me that you would allow advertisers like that on your site in the first place.
