@byron, by in large what has needed to be said about discontent with V3 has been said in the previous ~18 pages of material. I'm not sure what else can be added that has not already been voiced to some degree. I'm sorry if I offended any with my picture, but now and again, I find sprinkling a bit of humor a good way to break the ice of the seriousness of the thread. That's just me though.
All The Reasons We Hate V3!

What would we silly people do without serious people to provide us with new material by chiding us? (Thanks, guys.... seriously) ;-)

Why didn't some one tell me I'm an idiot! I got the basic nav down now. And webmaster has been posting monthly updates. I gotta get out of the forums more often.
I let u ramble on Sir.
That is the video i watched ages ago and it totally converted me. He should have mentioned a bit more on 960.

Alright, I'll get serious for a sec here. Byron, your using a non mouse interface. How's that working out for you on other sites? You want Chess.com to conpensate for that? I'm not attacking you, I just don't think its in the numbers. 15 million people here, how many don't use a mouse?

Well, the numbers of iPad/Droid tablet users is growing, not shrinking. So, I think Byron has a point there.
I mentioned in V2, all the menus are well-defined and readily understood---no hover points are required. But, the newer interfaces all seem to push icons and hover points as a way to get MORE squeezed in to a single page. V3 is being inundated with icons, which, if you don't know what they are expressly for, hover-points and trial-and-error are required. Either of which presents additional hassle for tablet users.

I use the site on a phone with very few problems, and most of those problems are moderator related. However, the apps are designed to be the solution for much of the site on mobile.
You certainly can use a mobile browser to play but your experience isn't going to be as good. A lot of the touch interface options for the site just work worse for mobile browsing. I believe there is work to make the site more accessible via mobile browser but also think that the app is still going to be positioned as the primary interface to games and some other features.

Here's an idea. If its Soo good, release it as is, bugs and all. Because 10 mins after it gets released, it will be obsolete. Then you can take notes on the beginning work for V4.

This whole internet thing was a bad idea.
Finally, a voice cutting through to the real problem. Thank you.

I'm finding numerous bugs in the iPhone app now that it's switched over to v3. And yes, I use the iPhone without a mouse.

V3 is terrible. In fact, the day I'm forced to use V3 is the same day I cancel my premium membership with chess.com. How's that for hating V3?

Must admit, I thought the whole point was to make chess.com more phone/tablet friendly.
I never logged in chess.com with my cell phone, BUT, some days ago, I did that, just to try it out.
It was NICE using V2.
I made some moves in my echess games, saw foruns... Everything OK and it was my first time
Then I do not know why V3 is better for mobile devices.

Is the intention to eventually push everyone onto v3 or will there forever be an option for v2 and v3?

They've said that as soon as v3 is finished, v2 is gone.
This really bothers me. People who start threads when we have threads already started.
