Actually you can and should.  Alt+PrtSc = active window screenshot. Paste it into any image editor, even Windows Paint, save and sent to support or paste it here and link to it in a support ticket.  You're the second person I spoke with who has had this same issue.

Now I can't play daily chess. Made my move then went to go click on the orange checkmark and saw my pieces go back to their original position. Submitted a bug report; but this is ridiculous.

v3 is ridiculous. As soon as v2 is not available anymore I'm going to find somewhere else to play chess. all these lackeys saying 'v3 is going to start very soon' make me sigh

Hey!! That's 99 dollars chess.com won't get!! muahaha

On the upside, V3 will probably make me waste less time on the site.

Oh, most definitely. I can't see myself logging on for more than 15 minutes a day after V3. Maybe I will just quit chess.com.

Some would see that as a good thing.

The site can't please everyone all the time.

During the last big visual redesign, there were the same type of criticisms. There is a huge thread out there when the design went live. Staff took a lot of that and worked through many of the issues people had.

I see no reason that something similar won't happen this time. Bugs will get fixed, the site will be optimized, new features will be worked on, and some things that v3 starts with will be tweaked to improve the overall experience.

It seems like only 2 people on this entire post are satisfied with v3

One of those two being a person who has actually tried the current V3 with an open mind, rather than just "IhateitIhateitIhateitIhateit..."

Yeah, it would be nice if DAVIDYell or SHAUNYell could bring this to the attention of Eric and see if he could defend 2 threads and a group against V3 Undecided   Like Trump, he's losing his base of supporters.

I'm posting this from V3 using the Edge browser; Firefox won't work properly on V3, in particular there are no icons at the bottom of the left hand bar for Menu at Top, old Chess.com etc...

To report a Bug, it seems you have to take a screenshot, which is no use as the problem is in a different browser.

What a bag.

Firefox works fine if you are on a reasonably newer version.

Apparently it is being read by staff. But if staff jump on the forums for every question, then they wouldn't be doing other work wink.png

If I had to guess, it is related to installed plugins.

Now that's clever.

I always laugh at the number of threads where people declare "I'm leaving!" and yet, X months/years later, they're still here - sometimes still complaining about the same things. You'd think they'd acknowledge their earlier threat to depart was a bit exaggerated, or whatever annoyed them stopped annoying them as (a) they got used to it or (b) understood what was really going on or (c) just grew up a bit more.

Some people may drop off, sure, but if the site is easier to maintain on the back end and makes it easier to deliver the features that will encourage enough new people to join up and pay for premium membership, that's still worth it.

I don't understand why people want photos here on Chess.com - there's a whole slew of image sharing sites out there, from Instagram to Snapchat to flickr to imgur, you can always post a link to those external images in your blog or forum post or whatever, they take up all this storage space on the Chess.com servers and it's way harder to monitor.

hmmm, good thought ....  maybe he should ty running Firefox in the safe mode and see what happens?  I was having a problem posting images using v3 and Chrome (no problem with Firefox or with v2).  Erik worked with me trying to figure it out but then I stumbled on the solution on my own. It was Norton Toolbar.  When I disabled it, the problem went away.

@Erik is already aware of it and has asked @Solskytz to do an impartial assessment of the current V3. It's somewhat ironic that Solskytz - having created https://www.chess.com/forum/view/community/join-the-quotforever-v2quot-group - actually now thinks that it's better than V2 - he's posted his initial thoughts in both threads (post #125 on page 7 here, post #6 in that other thread). It will be interesting to see what points he makes with the more detailed evaluation to come...

(for those wondering what the "@" symbol does, in V3 it links directly to that person's profile. which is considerably simpler than using the hyperlink text like solskytz or solskytz - both of which will work in either version, for now anyway)

And I'm going to offer some more non-staff suggestion. The site does look at member suggestions on what they want. There are tickets people put in, posts in the Site Feedback & Suggestions forum and I'm pretty sure staff get keyed into higher traffic posts like this one.

If I was a betting man, I would suggest that there have a been a lot of suggestions integrated into v3. But the thing is, everyone is different and while a number of people may like certain things, another group won't like that same thing. That is why I posted that you can't please all the people all the time.  The site makes changes, integrates the feedback that makes sense to it (erik and staff) and tries to make the site better.
