That is condescending bovine scatology.

why has it taken over 2 years and not even happened yet?
Because they've wanted to get it right as much as possible and invested a LOT of time & resources doing so. They are NOT going to release V3 and then have to go "#%$, we need to revert to V2 because X is broken and we didn't think about that."
As I said, if all of the people complaining about particular things were to start using V3 regularly and reporting them as bugs, that would help get those issues addressed in V3 - it's a metric that I know that Erik is looking closely at and influencing his decision as to when V3 goes live. Be specific about what isn't working for you! Report it! See Chess.com listen to your feedback and action it! It's converted Solskytz - see his post #185!
Staying back in V2 and taking pot shots at V3 from "over the fence" is not really helping matters.

thanks for your reasoned response, appreciated. but you first need to ask yourselves why alot of people aren't spending much time in v3.
Start by YOU spending an hour in v3 TODAY - then asking yourself why others aren't...
Make that experiment - it's worth your while.
I'm posting this from V3 using the Edge browser; Firefox won't work properly on V3, in particular there are no icons at the bottom of the left hand bar for Menu at Top, old Chess.com etc...
To report a Bug, it seems you have to take a screenshot, which is no use as the problem is in a different browser.
What a bag.
Firefox works fine if you are on a reasonably newer version.
No it doesn't, I'm using version 48.0 on the latest Windows; what else can you "suggest"?

already done that 3 times
The whole rationale for a sub-standard newer version of chess.com has now come down to "Solskytz is converted"
I've just been in V3.
So far its great, Avatars are larger.
Most of all its got chess960 in live!!!!
Brilliant!!! I found it a bit slow tho :(
Was they this much fuss when we went from V1 to V2....? Wonder what that was like. ...?
Well... mostly the same.
The old timers still bitched about the change.
For the third time, can anyone tell me what happened to photos in V3?
they did not make the cut! Check out my groups 85% of them have photo albums in them.
There are workarounds. Create a forum topic called Photos and post all the images you would normally post in albums. People with albums now can do the same thing by creating a blog page and posting images there.
What David said seems very likely. Once v2 is dead and buried, all the resources now being spend on running two versions, as well as dealing with the added annoyance of keeping them somewhat compatible, those same resources can be focused on fine-tuning v3. We shouldn't let little things become stumbling blocks.
I already thought about that. It doesn't work for me because I use the albums as a way to advertise my groups. I would have to leave my forums open and I aint gonna do that.
A lot of credit should go to Commander Riker also. He's been working hard with a lot of people to get V3 to run smoothly. He's got a thread in the admin group.
Once again, I'm ages ahead of the curve

Last post I saw was that v3 will be default by the end of the month.
I wasn't clear on the "end of the month" thing - isn't V3 already the default for new users? I thought that was when V3 was becoming the only version...
If you log off and clear your cookies, getting on the site still loaded v2 yesterday; haven't tested today.
So what you are telling me is that all the group pages I made will be gone as soon as we get V3? So, no one will be able to tell that they are in my Roman themed group vs another group?
I don't have groups with a lot of customization. You can check it out now to see what it looks like in v3. You can currently customize your background and group image. That is all and has been for a while.
