Better integration with chess kids

First great work with chess.com and chess kids.  I love the websites so far.

I am told if I subscribe to chess kids I will become a gold member.  Why would I want to downgrade?  Smile  I am not sure how that works but I assume there is some sort of discount.

The bigger issue is using the kindle.  My kids love everything on the kindle. But it seems chess.com for android does not really link with the chess kids account.

It would be good if my account here could link with my account with chess kids and then my kids could play chess online with other kids on the kindle.  It would be nice if I could also easilly go to my account and play the old people.

I understand that you may not want to use my username for the kids program and indeed I picked a different one for the chess kids.  But they should all link up with the email.  Then when you open chess.com on the kindle it would be good if we could choose which account to play on.

Paying one fee for a family plan would be nice too.

Hi! Thanks for the feedback :) I'll pass your feedback on to our team for review.

In regards to your membership on the two sites, they do currently operate separately.  So if you upgrade your kids accounts on ChessKid, you will still retain your separate Chess.com Diamond Membership but also have a Gold membership on ChessKid.com.

Ok I see that now. Are there plans to give chesskids accounts access through ipad or android like you do with chess.com members?

jaclyn

We have a ChessKid.com app :)

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chesskid

https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/chess-for-kids-chesskid-play/id629375826?mt=8

Was that what you were wondering about?

Yes that looks great.  Is there a chance you can put it in the amazon app store so I can use it with my kindle fire?

Are the videos available through this app for gold members?

jaclyn

I'll forward your suggestion regarding the Amazon app store on to our team :) In the Android and iOS versions of the app, yes we do have video lessons.

Thanks jac1yn.

My 2 girls, 7 and 9, really love the videos on chess kid.  They currently can watch the videos on the kindle through the web browser but having the app available with amazon would be great for easier access to the videos and for when they start actually playing more chess.

Mainly they like watching the videos on television.  I noticed there that if the video has a small size then expanding the video to full screen brings the chess board up properly (square shaped).  If the is no "small" option then going full screen means the chess board is rectangular like the size of my television.

In any event my hat is off to those who did the videos.  My kids so far have been excited to see them.
