cannot try app. tells me i have no device to download to! prompt says you must get it from the white shopping bag. no clue where that isi just type chess.com in google space.

I was really fond of batgirl... until the site decided to transform the bright and clear skies of V2 in a cloudy and dark V3... and then members started to fight one another... disastrous 

some months ago I was thinking to renew my membership too but why?

in order to accept this kind of comments?

in a site that destroys peaceful atmosphere and respect between its members by its own?

I don't care about V3 anymore, I do care about V2 but it looks like a lost case, but most of all I really care that I cannot relax and enjoy playing chess in an easy and friendly environment anylonger

so please don't torture us anymore, since you believe you have the perfect platform, oblige everybody to use V3 and then may be you will be able to see the truth

You forgot to mention that Batgirl did add a smiley face icon to add tone to her words 

V3 dilutes the social side of chess.com, and favours computer geeks who enjoy fiddling about for hours figuring out how things work.

There are a few things I like about V3. Live chess is one. Apart from a few minor hitches it impresses me. I also like inserting videos and images and V3 does this very well and super quick. However, navigating my way around V3 reminds me of a visitor looking for a patient in a maze of hospial rooms

If the navigation in V3 was as easy as in V2 I could forget all the themes and the colours

but this moment I tried again to make some moves in V3 and I started again to look for the conditional moves and analysis in order to try some patterns, i still can't use it, i got frustrated and went back to V2

you reminded me of an incident when i was a first year student in Edinburgh University, lol   It was our first tutorial and after that, proffessor told us to go for our first experiment lesson with pendulums in the hall 1hf  but nobody of us knew where is that room 1hf, so my classmates started to stop every man of the staff in the corridors and ask where is that 1hf room, but nobody knew

 It was my first month in Edinburgh and I couldn't speak Scottish very well so I was just listening, but after half an hour i decided to take the lead and when another man of the staff was walking towards us, I asked him  "excuse me sir, we are looking for some pendulums..." and he immidiately showed us the place

This is the problem with icons and navigation in V3

If you can understand pendulums I'm impressed. Understanding Scottish is much more difficult. Having a conversation with a drunk Scottsman is a total nightmare. Finding your way around a chess site should be a breeze. At the moment it sounds like a lot of Greek to many.

actually the only thing I remember from that first experiment with pendulums is that "1hf"room we were looking for half an hour opening all the doors(in some strange way there were not any labels on each door)  interrupting and asking everybody, while it was so simple if you use the right word 'pendulums" instead of "1hf" -- nobody knew the "1hf', they didn't need to know it --  and then I got my first party invite from Rona  "hey Panas, that was really cool"  etc

V2 is intuitive, attractive,familiar, organized. Players are not looking for "tarting up" for its own sake even IF v3 was attractive, WHICH IT ISN'T ,but want to play games, read news, view videos, undertake training etc.   Site info can be acquired from V2 to the satisfaction of most members. Currently, the pendulum is metronomic  i.e., v2 to v3 to v2 to v3.....who wants to promote this constant vacillation ???    This survey should settle the likeability factor.....Solon would be ROTATING in his Greek grave commemorated by an  unadorned hip-high column. Yes, simplicity is appreciated and should be democratic.

Thank you for Solon's work. Ockham of Oakham also had a way of expressing the essence of simplicity and went a long way in establishing scientific rigor and tidy hypothetical postulates as "Ockham's Razor", alluding to the French "rasoir", to scrape or lay bare.  Ignorance of the past lessons coupled with the pursuit of wealth to establish hierarchical control and dominance establishing the cult of "luxury" as an attainment of itself , is a root cause of our inability to square the antithetical world. Everything is what it is BECAUSE of what it isn't, viz., good vs evil etc,and in fact, one defines the other. Thus at the simplest broadly held perspective, our problems are ultimately incurable and only change is predictable. This opinion is not jaundiced but a recognition of exemplified fact.  Knowledge is paramount in attempting to explain and understand phenomena, notwithstanding an "uncertaintity principle". Mindless beliefs corrupt our potential and fortify the ignorants that will never seek truth but sinply perpetuate turmoil and dissent.

The argument that its like comparing vhs tapes to CD discs does not work here. If you had your own community guarantying buy old style for ever why would you force them to change what they want?
