The new Chess.com interface is simply horrible. I despise it. It's hard to find anything. Who designed this? They should be fired. Where do you watch titled members play? Why is News under "Share"? Stupid.
Express if you like or do not like the new version of the site
OK, that was my last game on chess.com... "You ran out of time before your move reached the server." As I have connection issues regularly with V3 now, together with the horrible UI it is just too much to put up with. Time to delete my account. See you guys again on V4!
And he's gone; "Member Account Closed".
I'm sure it doesn't matter, since C.com is well on its way to 20 million users.
The self-immolation continues.
According to our friend the Commander, we haven't long to wait

He would have told us in this Thread, except we are in "Off-Topic" ![]()
The Commander had a couple of ?? after his comment.
Maybe he is not so sure.
I would be hedging my bets, as V3 is getting a lot more flak now.
i ventured in to v3 over the weekend, it took 9 seconds for my non live game to update, i thought id made the wrong move, then bam
yes the irony of the matter is chess dot com use a company called zerolag - I kid you not.
It was a mistake to use a German Company, as so many words end in lag.
Indeed take a look at my Kolschlag, tis it not a thing of beauty? Made in Cologne, Glasgow, Scotlag
Nom! nom! nom! takes less time to pour it than it takes for the zerolag servers to let me make a move.

Just read this thread. 4800 posts will tell you anything you need to know about navigating V3.
I have no problem navigating V3.
The problem is the lag in V3.
In my experience, V3 takes MUCH longer to load games than V2---
However---V3 moves MUCH faster loading forums and inserting images and youtube selections than V2 does.
Each system has it's own advantages and disadvantages.

so far the only place where v3 is faster than v2 is when inserting a picture into a post. Shame the same can't be said when it comes to showing that picture in the post...
For me, it is easier to access my online games and archived games in V2.
I have been using the "Classic" version of V3.
The regular version of V3 is just about unbearable to use.
Indeed Bishop for any new member in this forum in the event you liked the layout of v2 better. You can run this link in your address bar while in V3. www.chess.com/classic
I'm not saying it is the same as V2 only formats V3 a bit closer to the V2 layout. Cheers
Hello Commander,
I think that the messaging in V3 is much better than V2.
However in V2 I used to be able to type in the members avatar name and get all the messages from them and to them quickly.
In V3 I have to go back and fish through the messages.
Can that be changed/corrected, OR do I need to use a different method that I am unaware of?
...the answer is probably in one of the previously linked 35 videos about how to use a chess website.

There's three methods.
One, you can go into your messages, choose the search icon and start entering the member's name: once it has enough to match, it'll show those matches:

You may need to click on the Inbox and Archive icons above that, as the search results will only show the ones for that category, but you won't have to re-enter the search any more.
The second method is if you go to Messages from the member's profile, either their full one or the pop up one:

That just brings up a pop up for a new message, but if you click on the Mail icon, it will take you to your Messages and show any previous conversation as well:

Lastly, you can also navigate directly there via https://www.chess.com/messages/<membername> although clearly you have to get the member's name exactly right there.

or on the other site, which we cannot name any more...
