Cool

jakrat

Well, I hate it!

Bellerophontis

Apart that I can't view the game of my best win anymore in V3 (it shows only the name and the rating of my opponent) all the other issues worked fine this morning.

Still I believe V3 is complicated and very slow, generally boring and very tiring, makes you anxious, can't relax and play using creative imagination, doing mistakes easily

I like more V2 is quicker and very easy-goingWink

helps me relax and play better chess, also I like the cool smiley too (only in V2) Cool

homepage in V2 is easier to the eye too

In V2 homepage you see everything at once, it really feels like home

When you open homepage in V3 you see only half of the things, that makes me feel uncomfortable and I have to reduce to 50% in order to view all I can see when I open homepage in V2

all i say is that V2 is more aesthetic and easier

V2 is the beetle of chess platforms

Thank you sir!

A thousand likes to your comment!Smile

Your comment was very accurate and to the point. I guess many people who play chess on-line are more or less your age, and because I don't believe that you have to be treated like old and rusty minds, but only as wise and well respected people I totally agree with you and "I hope that we can have the option to keep the old format." tooWink

Thank you all for your suggestions. We are working hard to make the "new" site feel as much like the "old" site as possible.

In fact, we just launched the URL https://www.chess.com/classic which sets the new site preferences to most similarly match the old site. Let me know what you think!

"In V2 homepage you see everything at once"

Yes indeed, and that's the real issue with V3 !

Erik is offering the option to have v3 with the same feel of v2.  Once I stated using this option, for whatever reason, v3 seemed perfect.  I think a lot of people who try this will share my experience.

I tried the v3 classic mode, sadly looks just like v3 but without the wallpaper...

I have been using the new site ever since you made it available, and love it. Just tried the new  https://www.chess.com/classic theme and it brings back memories. Great addition to the new chess.com. Thanks for all the improvements.

I've been using v3 for a couple of weeks. I like it and am getting used to it. Have ran into a few minor quirks but nothing that can't be worked around until staff works them out. One dumb question: I clicked on chess.com/classic and like the format but how do I get back to new format for comparison? (I'm sure the answer is obvious but at least not to me)

Thanks

P.S. My posts never seem to appear on the "Most Recent" list. What am I doing wrong.

Thanks again.

erik

If you want to return to the new format, you can:

- Change your Theme to Chess.com (Default) https://www.chess.com/settings/themes

- Choose left nav (click on the nav icon up top)

- Choose to show Grid of games on /home

- Hide your profile from /home

Those are the differences.

Is it possible to see your own Forum posts listed somewhere?

I just noticed something had been fixed in V3, but can't find the Thread where I remarked on it.

I log in this AM and I can't get the V2 board.

The V3 board I can barely read my opponent's rating. What moron thinks that a small typeface on a black background is easy to read?

What moron thinks that enlarging the board so much that I almost have to turn my head from side to side to see it all is a good idea? If I wanted a giant board I could catch a train into the city and play with the knee high pieces in Hyde Park.

There is no indication of what material has been taken from the board.

IT IS A CRAP PIECE OF DESIGN

have you tried the new classic theme?

Pulpofeira

About the material, better to focus on what is still on the board.

You can change your background to less dark colors and resize your board (cursor over the upper-right of the board, click-hold the double ended arrow, drag to the left).

There is also a link in the menu to switch to the old version.
