1. How do you propose that chess.com "fix" people that dont chat?
2. Is a forced, insincere reply from someone really going to mean that much to you?

@FishEyedFools 1. As I said, make it this way, to start a game.
2. Yes, it is. In my opinon, chess is like "Go", where both players are honorable people. In "Go" It's absolutely normal to greet your opponent first before starting the game. This shows. that both players respect each other. There is almost no animosity. Even durhing a live game, you can apply to undo your last move. If it obviously was a misclick, usually both players agree to undo their last moves. If someone doesn't agree, they can call an admin to check. He then can see, how quickly he asked to undo his move or if it's obivious but that other player still doesn't agree, then he can even cancel the game. This sort of order qnd respect I would like to see here.

I actually agree with you that it would be nice, and common sense would dictate that opponents would greet each other before a game starts. It happens in OTB tournaments, it happens in person. But you are talking about the internet, where annonymity can be a powerful thing.
For many, the annonymity of sitting behind a monitor does things to people. Its like they feel it gives them a free pass to act stooopid. And like i also said before, forcing someone to type gg...gl...etc. isnt going to change anything, and a forced insincere greeting isnt worth it.
Look at it this way. You are seeing the real person online.
Hello. I'm still pissed of by most of the players here. Almost no one greets back whenever I greet them at the beginning of the game. Some even disable their chat, not even greeting back first.
How about this idea: We can only start a game, after both Players have at least wrote 1 Message, which would be the greeting? That way, it would force all those impolite ignorant Players to at least write a message or even make a greeting. It sucks to be ignored. This keeps me rom playing more often here, than I would. Please fix that.
