It reminds me of how we defended ourself against nazi-germany back in the days. That wasn't a big succes either.

Wilbert, you fought in WII, how old are you now? Oh wait sorry, I get it now, you refering to how the people of your home fought the war, ok got it, sorry Wilbert, Embarassed

I have two games right now, and I am tired of looking at the board

Are there really true beer connaisseurs out there, who would place Dutch beers in the same sentence as Belgian beers when it refers to quality? It's not even close! The Netherlands have a lot of things going for them, but beer isn't one of them, just ask all the Dutch tourists that swamp Antwerp every weekendSealed.

DrSpudnik

Everyone raves about Belgian beers, but to me the yeast imparts a moldy aftertaste, like a damp basement. Frown

Mwaw, if you only look at the big names you are right. It's the small names that withstand the comparison with Belgian beers. But truth to be told, I would love to trade in Amstel, Heineken, Bavaria for Stella. My favorite Belgium beer however is Westmalle Trappist. A real nice beer indeed!

Grolsch Canon is a nice one, although I usually almost faint after drinking a bottle.

Dude... That comment wasn't referring to the war! They dig holes to sunbath in! When I refer to Nazi-Germany, I state, Nazi-Germany. And yes, different times, different people, different views! For one, we -the Dutch- could learn a lot from them these days when it comes to anti-racismlaws.

TeraHammer

Eh Wilbert you should do some litte more history exploring over there. That comment can also refer to the Atlantikwall or mass graves in dunes, so care.

But them germans did do something wrong! 1974! We should have won! Grrrr! 2012 will be our revenge mhuawhuawhuawhuawhua

Anyway, I love belgium beers. I can't understand why Heineken for instance is so popular all over the world whereas belgium beers like Palm are so vastly superior. Then again, I'm born in Maastricht so I'm half Belgian anyway.

On topic, I actually like it that our country is known with 2 different names, because I can pick one depending on the audience. Say I'm with some cool people I say: "I'm from holland, owyeah Cool". Say I'm on business tour I say: "I reside in The Netherlands Innocent

Actually Wilbert our official name is "Koningkrijk der Nederlanden" (Kingdom of the Netherlands), so Tongue out. Escoban was 100% right in this topic btw Tongue out

To all my fellow "Hollanders": don't you think it's just plain fun the country we live in is called both "The Netherlands" and "Holland", while we as citizens of our country are referred to as "The Dutch" instead of "The Netherlandish" or "The Hollanders"? I think it's quite nice to be part of such an unclear situation...

fburton

Typically Dutch, I would say. Laughing

Wilbert_78
