This is why i only play correspondance chess here.  Also, trying to play chess on a phone has never made much sense to me.

Now is happened a strange thing;

I was in a winning position against "Kiarotta" user, then my opponents was disconnected for all the 60 seconds....but instead of my win, started MY COUNTDOWN of disconnected signal!!!

But, internet was perfect, the signal was strong, and internet worked during the countdown.!!!..i tried to open facebook, and all was ok! I came back to the game and the countdown was there, and i lost the game?!?

What the hell happened?

Chess.com had BIG problems for the connections, big big, problems.....

I think that chess.com is not good for mobile internet.

I live in italy, Roma, the capital....with a stronger 4G signal everywhere, the problems are in chess.com, not in the signal.

The ability to connect to other sites doesn't mean anything. The path the app traffic takes to the chess.com servers only shares small part of the path with other websites/processes. Any part of that path can cause connection issues as can other traffic on your wifi/cellular data connection.

I won't say that the app/client connection and reconnection code shouldn't be more robust or the timeout isn't too short but the site can't control every hop of the network.

As to your last point, disconnections when winning are perception bias. You don't really notice when you are losing because you are already losing and it doesn't have the same impact and you are much less likely to notice.

You are very likely getting disconnects in more games. Winning, losing and drawn. You don't notice it when you're not winning. Conversely, you are not getting disconnected in all winning games.

There are a large number of things that can cause disconnects and some of those things are very likely intermittent and out of the control of you or the site. Some things can be influenced by your device and connectivity and some by the site client and server code. But disconnects happen and there are things that can be done such as decreasing other processes using the connection or CPU cycles or increasing the reliability of the connection (usually wired > wireless > cellular).

Few disconnections when you're winning? You must be a strong player..

I try ro repeat better;

I am not able to be clearer than this grin.png

Chess.com support replied to me.

Them told me that the disconnections happen often for mobile and Android users, expecially for who play using android browser...and a little bit less for App users, but happen.

No problem, the support removed me the restrictions alert happy.png

I understood dude. Removing the restriction alert, I don't think, will prevent you from having disconnects.

Yes, i know...

Infact right now i am avoiding to play a lot of games during my holiday(now i am in holiday in my house on the sea near to Roma happy.png ), because in that house i am forced to use mobile connection.

I play only few games per day hoping of nothing connections issues.

Play daily games.. Or 30 minutes game. You will get some time to reconnect.

I have to agree with u sir. this happened to me as well in a winning blitz game. fact is, it is useless to post here. the Help & Support forum is almost NEVER checked by the MODs. u would be very luck if said thing happened. cheers!

Mods check the forums all the time but they moderate content. They do not implement policy.

Stop playing on a blasted toy and get a real machine with a good internet connection. Don't blame chess.com for stuff that is your responsibility.

Ah ok...

..a Tablet Samsung, Octa-core cpu with 2K 10.5" SuperAmoled display, 3 Gb Ram, 32 GB memory and 4G+ connection (price 699€) is not good enough to play chess online....😂

If this device is not good to play at chess.com ...there is a problem... happy.png

But i think is a problem of mobile connection in general(as the support said me), not of chess.com or my device

Avatar of Fabio656

Anyway...i use my tablet when i am in my holiday house.

When i am in Rome i use a normal PC with adsl.

Another disconnection of few seconds(~60seconds) with mobile connection, and i lost another game.

The problem is not the site, the problem is me that i still give money to this site....
