Interactive Chess Map of the World

Has this idea been posted before? Well...maybe it has. But if it has, I haven't been able to find it.

On that note, I present to you my idea for a...

Chess.com Interactive World Map!

I don't know about anybody else, but I find it fascinating to play people from all over the world. Are some of the country affiliations fake? Of course! But I like to assume that many of them are real. Now I am sure you Chess.com people have some sort of record somewhere of all the people who have active accounts on this site. Somewhere in that slew of information must be how many from each country.

Now I love checking out and even attempting to remember or guess all the flags that I see. I would love it even more if there was some type of interactive map showing the amount of players and even the highest rated player in each individual state/country on every active continent. Clicking on the country or state could even bring up a brief history of chess for that country/state if there is one.

This could all be a ton of work, but this is Chess.com! If only through pure human curiosity, I can guarantee additional members JUST for this little addition.

Seriously, consider it. It would be facinating.

EDIT: I actually have many additional ideas that would improve on this little feature. But to avoid convolution I'll leave them out.

Just bumping this to see if anybody else has any comments!

Last and only bump before I allow this topic to sit.

There are so many "small things" which would make Chess.com even more awesome and attractive to new members as it is already, it's ridiculous.

Sadly, the mills of progress are grinding slow...

I agree

Well...if everybody banded together for something on this site then maybe we would get one or two of them.
