Live chess spectating

For a week or so now, when I go to Live Chess, I am instantly transported to being an observer of some game in progress.  I hate it.  Is this a change to how things work, or is there some setting in preferences that will make this go away?

You'll need to adjust your settings to undo what appears to have become a default reset perhaps during a program 'upgrade'.

I didn't see any setting that would affect this, although I did decide to make a few other changes.

Settings / Play / (disable) Top Games

I wouldn't mind if the game quality was better ... bullet is trash at any time, even when it's between chess.com 2400's ... like waking up to a bad dream ...

It automatically opens the top game. It is fairly annoying, I disabled it. 

And no, you DON'T actually have to insult a form of the game that you are too slow to be good at steve_bute. I hate people who can't play bullet to save their lives badmouthing it. 

@fianchetto123 ... Correct - I don't have to insult it. I chose to insult it. I can't play any form of chess to save my life, so that's irrelevant.
