i have also experienced another type of lag. i have flown from the east coast to the west coast and had jet lag. jet lag effects were more physically straining to than the lag you are talking about.
after you went to sleep, did your lag improve?

Dear chess.com, I have noticed that when I play live chess a new problem has been created. My computer is having to work so hard to load your moving adds, which are a distraction in of themselves, it is causing major lag. in fact, I often lose on time when I was up as much as 20 seconds! I have an ICC acount, and I am not going to be slow about making the switch unless an end is put to these ads that move. I have no problem with ads, but the moving ones are both distracting, and causing me to lose rating points.
