OK, no problem...I agree about the speed, I use Firefox and V3 is very fast...

My problem is still that I prefer V2 and chess.com have throttled it and removed so many features that it is now virtually unusable.

For me V3 is fast. I have a Microsoft Surface and use Crome. I also play on my Galaxy where I use the web version (not app). I have tried too on a recent Mac where the site was fast too.

If you are seeing something else, I would recommend that you report to chess.com and include information on which hardware/device and browser you are using. In V3, you can click "Help > Report a Bug". Cheers,

I think I have the current version of chrome but I don't know for sure...I use a ASUS and a iPhone 8. I deleted the app because it was only good for live games which as I already said, I don't play on this site.

Just press Home after Be3's url and you are, yes, you are Home. Thx, more people should know about this.

Yes, I was a bit hesitant at first but the V3 analysis board is much better. You can drag and drop, save and re-order variations. I recommend that eveyone explore it. Once you have tried, it is hard to go back and play daily games on V2 without this analysis board.

Ofcourse, there are many other new features as well in V3...

Perhaps I am missing something, and I wish to be fair to V3.

Please give, if possible, a run down on how to reorder variations (in a manner which is readable and/or intelligible).

It is a hard ask in any case, but in V3?

If you are correct, I will take back many of my criticisms of V3.

In the V3 analysis board, you can move the pieces and their moves gets re-corded. You can then decide to save or not. You can use the back button to go back at any time to make a new variation. You can right right click and promote (re-order) this new variation.

I recommend you give it a try ;-)

I watched the V3 video several times but the video isn't easy to follow on my Kindle FIRE tablet. Maybe they should sell me the V2 version and I can run it forever. . .

How do I get back to the old version??!!! :0) this would make me very happy. New one is rubbish. I can play better on my mobile than desktop with new version & I don’t like playing on mobile as pieces are too small but new version just doesn’t work properly.

I revert to v2 once in while just to check out the photo albums.  I cringe every time I do.

I'm still using the wooden board and taking notes on a piece of paper.  sad.png

Because once you get used to V3, going back to V2 feels like looking at pictures of yourself from the 80s.

Thats not a selling point.  I looked awesome in the 80's!

After I discovered the improved analysis board in V3, I could no longer play games in V2.

Does anyone here prefer the V2 over V3 in regards to analysis board ?

V2 is readable.

If you have a Ph. D. in V3, apparently the now "bug free" V3 one is better. Same problem, V3 is simply not user friendly, is buggy and non-intuitive and has bits hidden.

VKJ, I would love to use V3 if it is good as you say it is.

I guess you are just more intelligent than 99% of us deplorables.

Yes, I still prefer it.

The V3 one has been improved, but is still poorly constructed; you can't easily use the arrow buttons, have to search for the move notation.

V2 analysis is a simple pop-out board which does the job and you don't worry about an analysis line inadvertently being entered as a move.

I cannot use the V2 analysis board anymore. I also strongly prefer the V3 message organizing by thread which is more compact and more contemporary.

Is the old chess.cpm now dead? If so, housekeeping is no longer possible, except in the labirynthe pf V3.

No, v2 is still around.  There is no official kill date right now.  The only time there was an official kill date, it got cancelled because some people still had major problems with slowdowns.
