Old Chess.com version!

I prefer V2. Once is gone, I'll have to get used and I'll do, like it happened with the change of currency.

Can someone tell me how to get this info in V3 when I'm watching ongoing blitz games? See below. And thank you in advance.

V3 feels like a bad video game.
In V2, under live chess, you could watch games being played AND V2 GAVE YOU AN ONGOING RECORD OF THE "MATERIAL SCORE" --
i.e. HOW MANY POINTS (Q=9, B=3, P=1, ETC.) DURING THE GAME THAT EACH PLAYER HAD LOST. This information was updated after every move.
I cannot find this feature in V3. Is it no longer available?? If so, BUMMER.
When you watch two IMs play Game in 3/0, this information is very helpful to "evaluate" the game in your own mind.
Sure hope this information is available (in real time) in V3, but I just wasted 20 minutes looking around for it in V3. So, I'm back to V2 to play or WATCH.
What a pain in the [language - MOD], is V3.

So where's that information ?
Did they just forget to provide it in the new super duper blooper V3 ??

I use too the old one...it remind me a lot...my first days on site and lot more!also i thing is easier for navigation...hope to keep it alive!

still use the old version. That is, I'm trying to. Today, the site lets me get the old page, but once I click a link, e.g. from the front page to my online chess page, it goes to the new layout. So basically it forces the new layout. It's a problem for me, since the new layout is slower. Every time I punch in a word here in this box, for instance, it takes about half a second for each letter to appear. Seriously, WTF?

I have now switched to V3. Chess.com is a platform to play chess and V3 is really well done.
But the site is no longer so personal. No more own desings and no photo albums! But that is not so important!

I switched to v3 about a year ago, and have hardly looked back since.
v2 is based on technology dinosaurs such as Flash; there are good reasons for it to die. Maybe the old worked, but the ability to add new features was much more limited, and there was much more potential for it to break. v3 is already much better than when I switched, and most of the bugs have been worked out.

It's right under the names of the players. It shows the captured pieces and gives a "+1" to the side that's up a pawn, etc.

When there are customers requesting new features, then the site has to decide whether to ignore those requests or work on adding them to retain and increase members. Many of the new features are chess related and learning related.

Here is the flaw in your thinking: Chess does not need new features.
Chess websites do not need new features.... unless they are not about chess and are really about something else.
There's more than adding new features. There's keeping existing ones from breaking. Web browser technology is not static. Modern browsers are moving away from supporting Flash, and for good reason; Flash is buggy and full of security holes. V2 was partly built on Flash. Chess.com is wise to move away from a technology that is going to die.

There will always people living in the past instead of looking forward. Good luck, you will need a thread like this to hold hands and cry for a better world

I have to use "old chess.com" as I cannot afford HIGH SPEED internet. Every time I attempted the new version my PC would freeze, browser cease to "respond", thereby creating a lost game. Not that I am very good, but still losing two games in a row attempting the new versiuon is not worth it.

I know some of the speed issues are supposed to be improved when v2 goes away and they no longer have to throw resources at two different versions.
But freezing, browser ceasing to respond, I'm guessing that's likely a problem on your end? It's certainly not the sort of thing I would expect to be affected by whether or not you have high speed internet; that will affect how long it takes the page to load, but shouldn't cause your PC to freeze unless there's something wrong with your PC.

Quite correct, which is where the problem lies.
Lots of satisfied customers just getting on and playing chess have had their routines disrupted by change for ? sake.

See my comment #42. They've spent a lot of money on v3, and you can be sure they didn't do that for fun. v2 was simply not maintainable in the long run.
For example, Flash is an obsolete technology that is notoriously full of bugs and security holes; if your site uses Flash (as v2 does), what do you do when web browsers cut off support for Flash? The website that you kept as-is because it was "still working" will then be broken, even without you changing anything.
Now, if you want to argue that v3 is poorly designed or whatever, you can do that (although constructive criticism that explains what can be improved is rather more useful than "it's bad"), but sticking with v2 was simply not an option if they wanted the site to survive for more than a few years.
