Have you guys tried the V3 analysis board? Much better than V2, right?

The V2 board has always been fine for me and is labelled "Analyse" which makes it easy to find.

In V3 there is a strange symbol with a magnifying glass, could mean anything. meh.png

I mean the functionality enhancements in V3: you can save moves (or not), promote variations, add comments, export your analysis as PNG, etc.

How can I delete all my messages, with one step, on the new ver. as on the old one?

TCK1

I don't think you can select all messages  to delete ?  I had the same issue and did not find solution.

Just another example of horrible design !

TCK1

One more thing;  The submit and cancel buttons ( daily chess ) are reversed on the two platforms.  Wondering why I was making so many blunders.

Wonder if designers ever played chess here, or perhaps just very dry humor ??

i think the idea was that there is now more space for messages, so there shouldn't be much need for deleting them. But i could easily be wrong...

You can archive them (per user, not all at the same time), which removes the messages from the view and thus is pretty much equivalent to 'delete' in V2 (remember, nothing gets really deleted in the digital world).

i am still using the old version too. It’s simpler design was easier on the eye. what ur used to i guess but i have to manually select it now, it updates itself to the new version every now and then. Any other dinosaurs still on v2 ?

frankooo

I am an old fart...Played over 3000 games on V2 and had no problems with its simplicity and organized qualities...Enjoyed friends and photos from around the world on that site and still waiting for them to pull the rug from under us and shut it down...When that happens I will not get up and start over again to learn the new concepts and designs of V3...The new site is just too annoying to navigate around in my opinion...

i'm still enjoying V2

Is nice  V2

VKJ is on v3??

Yes, I was a bit hesitant at first but the V3 analysis board is much better. You can drag and drop, save and re-order variations. I recommend that eveyone explore it. Once you have tried, it is hard to go back and play daily games on V2 without this analysis board.

Ofcourse, there are many other new features as well in V3...

SonOfThunder2

I haven’t used a analysis board for quite a while. It’s impossible to play live on v2 not that I care since all my live games are elsewhere and v3 is so glitchy in love games I want to cry.

How do you deal with the glitchy, jerky, f’d up way v3 runs? You click on something and 4 seconds later it starts to move...then 12 seconds later the screen go through random distortions until it get to what you want...21 seconds after you wanted it.

For me V3 is fast. I have a Microsoft Surface and use Crome. I also play on my Galaxy where I use the web version (not app). I have tried too on a recent Mac where the site was fast too.

If you are seeing something else, I would recommend that you report to chess.com and include information on which hardware/device and browser you are using. In V3, you can click "Help > Report a Bug". Cheers,

Reepicheep14

v3 isn't glitchy for me.

No it is not. V2 has a pop-up analysis board which is far more user-friendly.

This doesn't make sense, Microsoft Edge and Crome(sic) are both browsers ??

V3 is now quicker because Chess.com is throttling V2 to get everyone to change to their latest disaster, V3. angry.png
