.... I think they should be this feature that allows one to chat instantly with online friends. Not until you start a game or send them a message.

Pls this should be taken into consideration by the staffs/mods and the chess community.

Pardon my ignorance if such feature already exist   Frown

If you're in live chess and you see a friend online under the "Friends" tab, then right click on their name and select "Invite to Chat." :D

Dr_Cris_Angel

If you are not in "live", I don't think it exists. A few years back, there was something (I think it was meebo) but it's not in place anymore. I've actually found that I don't really miss it although there are probably others that do.

Yes, couple of years ago you could chat, now you no longer can... Cry

No idea - one day I logged in (?) and it was no longer there. I miss it.

Actually the partnership between Chess.com and that company was no longer a thing, if I remember the things correctly.

Where has the Meebo chat bar gone?

Formerly found at the bottom of each page except Live Chess, the Meebo chat bar has been removed from Chess.com.

In 2012, Meebo was acquired by Google, who quickly discontinued most of Meebo's products and services. The Meebo bar has so far survived, but will shortly be altered to become a kind of adjunct utility for Google Plus users.

Thanks Kirkwood ...thats cool..... But i think there is always room for improvement. How about being able to chat from the home page or any other page and also making this feature available for the mobile apps... Thx 😜

In the menu, choose Tournaments and the Live tab should show. Then you can join one of the tourneys.

When I choose live tournament, It displays this message "unfortunately live tournaments are not available in your version of Android....".  I updated it yesterday and it still shows the same thing.  It request me to get version 4+ while the latest in the app store is 3...

Martin_Stahl

What version is your Android? Maybe it relies on something in Android 4+.

I WANT TO TALK WITH MY PLAYER ISANKI OR IAN LEMON RESIDING IN PHILIPINES

That's probably the extent I can help. I'm on 6.0.1 and it works. It is possible the notification you get is incorrect or generic.

Maybe open a ticket and see what they say..
