Into the mix of Official Chess.com Tournaments might I suggest the addition of an Open? Everyone is entered into the same tournament, no rating classes. Players are placed into sections consecutively by rating, highest player section 1, second into section 2, etc. Although this may result in many lopsided section victories in the first round it will also give lower rated players the chance to play the higher rated players perhaps creating some upsets and a change of pace.
