PGN download

Several efforts to download my recent games have given me databases with the moves, but no result, no players (none of the info that is part of pgn headers).

Fix it please.

For correspondence sites, indeed for all serious chess sites, pgn records are a fundamental component, a minimal standard. Without functioning pgn downloads, a site is not worth playing at.

One game at a time is impractical, although it has always worked fine. It is downloading a batch that is the problem (and a recurring one).

My other favorite sites facilitate download of all my or my opponent's games as one file. One site permits download of all that site's finished games. Chess.com is the best site with respect to many features, in overall appearance, and in the ability to attract titled players. But, in this feature it lags behind the industry standard.

Seems to work ok for me when I download my entire database of games.  Perhaps you could log it as a bug and the boffins will try to figure out why you have a problem.

I've submitted the bug report.

I did discover through a bit of trial and error that if I open the file in Notepad, replace every instance of " with ", and then save as a pgn file, I can open it and everything is there.

I've noticed that when downloading LIVE games, that the time control is not included.  Anyone else notice this? 

I note that I've directly imported the files into chessbase or Rybka, and their 'time control' box doesn't have the info.  Opening the file itself with notepad and the information is there.  Any idea why Rybka/Chessbase isn't importing the time component correctly?  message me directly w/ any feedback, thanks!

Things are working great!

Moreover, sorted databases are now downloading correctly, too. Downloading sorted databases was a feature I wanted to use, but had given up upon after too many failures. It is important becuase I save my 3 0 and longer games to my database, but not bullet games.

My next step will be to sort opponent's games to only turn-based and attempt download. If that works, my only remaining complaint will be the fifty game limit (a small issue).

Sorting an opponent's games and downloading the desired batch seems to work now, too. Whatever you are doing to improve this site's performance, it is working.
