1.  Reminder-  This addition to the block feature would alert you when you have someone blocked for a time pre-determined by the blocker, and asks you whether or not to renew the block (from ozzie_c_copplepot)

2.  Appeal- This addition to the block feature allows the blocked person to make an appeal of his blocking to the blocker, and the blocker can decide to unblock him if he decides to (the reason he was blocked may be a misunderstanding of some sort).  This would happen when the block takes place, and whenever else the blocker wants it to be. (from a commenter on a thread about blocking, I don't know from who, but not from me)

3.  Other customization- With this addition, the blocker could decide exactly what the blockee can/can not do, such as...

·       What threads the blockee can/can not post in (for example, I could disallow Lenny Bongcloud voters to post in my surveys, but still allow them to comment on a joke thread)

·       Whether they can play you in Live Chess

·       Whether they can leave you a note

·       Whether they can leave you a message

·       etc.

4.The 200 block limit- this is discussed in this thread

5. Ignore- This change would feature the option of not seeing the blockee’s threads, posts, and the quoted part of his/her quoted posts.  In other words, this change takes the blockee out of the blocker’s chess.com life and thoughts.

Feel free to make your own suggestions to add to this list.

In my opinion, #1 is funny, putting people in "time-out"Laughing

#2 I disagree with, because I don't care to speak to anyone I block.

#3 is absurd.

#4 is bizarre simply because, I would not revisit a website if I have to block so many people.

#5 is great!Laughing

I think a complex and sophisticted set of rules and regulations should evolve around the use of the forums. The moderators would serve as judges to settle disputes, and I think we need lawyers to represent agrieved parties. Yeah, we'll need plenty of forum lawyers.

The premium members would get the most expensive lawyers. The poor would be shafted by the system. In fact, they would probably allow TV cameras in the forums, for the big cases.

The death penalty would be a real possibility for those unfortunate individuals, especialy in the court of Judge Windows_7!

And what about the suffering us innocent forum-goers will have to go through if Nancy gets wind of this!

Somehow it managed to reproduce! Apparently it gives birth to litters like the Octomom celebrity creature.

Add a session block, which remains in effect during the user's current active session. This avoids permanently blocking someone while at the same time limiting the number of times chess.com can re-pair the same two players repeatedly. This would be especially useful for the less common time controls or unrated games where the tendency of duplicate pairings is higher.

@Karl right-click the underlined name in the message area and you should find it. Also on your account profile under the privacy section you can add/remove names as needed.
