Posting hints etc above daily puzzle.

Once again we have our resident spammer posting a hint above the daily puzzle, albeit an erroneous one but nevertheless one which gets in the way of trying to actually solve the puzzle.

Could the site admin please either make the thread a locked one allowing no comments (as I've already suggested) or at least mute the offenders ?

Let's face it the individual I'm referring to has been muted before and has been warned numerous times about posting above the puzzle offering hints etc, yet again he takes no notice and laughs at the moderating team.

Come admin / moderators support those of us who actually want to do the puzzle without all the unnecessary spam - either use some backbone and mute the offenders or lock the thread.

Many thanks.

It now appears the spammer has altered his clue to now invite people to an 'official' puzzle tournament ?

How can it be 'official' ? is he a site admin ? where are the rules if it is an official tournament ?

If it's mindless narcissistic attention seeking (and I suspect it is) then it is time the real site admin took a stand and decided who really runs the site.

The problem is, chess.com could not care less about the issue. When I was Diamond and complained about it, they did nothing. It is a big reason why I did not renew. (That and the fact that certain staff and mods have zero customer service skills, and their snarky comments when people present and actual issue make it tough to take the site seriously anymore.)

I quite agree Rsava, nothing will get done this time - despite numerous warnings and a muting following people complaining the individual in question now decides he runs the site and laughs at all the admin who do nothing about it.

What's the point in warning or muting people if after a couple of weeks they can carry on regardless ? Indeed what is the point of a moderating team at all if they have no power to alter things ?

Personally I think the individual is ruining the puzzle and making a mockery of the site, he's laughing at the admin team yet they don't seem bothered.

Personally if it was my site I refund his membership fee and delete his account - ok the site will lose one subscription but how many others are there like you are no longer subscribing because of poor moderation etc ?

Now we are getting bombarded by supporters posting 'unmute MSC' etc what on earth is going on ? what are newcomers to the puzzle (or the site in general) supposed to make of this site ?

It really is time the admins got to grips with the situation - the site is effectively run by MSC and his supporters even when he is muted - why not just delete all MSC support threads etc and if necessary mute the offenders as well.

You'll have the problem solved in a few days if you put your foot down.

Just get rid of the idiot and and his supporters for the benefit of the rest us.

I can't believe you let one indidual get away with repeated warnings and effectively take over the site.

We now have 'Newardweaden' posting spam under the puzzle advertising MSCs' tournaments.

If the offender is supposedly muted why on earth Chess.com repeatedly allow him to promote his own agenda through other members is beyond me.

All this relentless puzzle spam does is to detract from the the site.

Still no response from the admin team so I guess they've given up and decided MSC runs the site after all.
