rating minimum for challenge

When attempting to challenge some players of the general type standard rating=2200, Chess960 rating=1770, I received the message that this player only accepts challenges from players above 2100 in one case and 1900 in another case.  I suspect that is because they specified that rating level for standard games but it doesn't make any sense to apply it to Chess960 games.  At the time my ratings were 1994 in standard and 1600 in Chess960.  What I suspect happened is that my 1600 rating was checked against the filter and rejected.  Can an admin please confirm whether this is what happened?  

Can the filtering system be adjusted so that standard and Chess960 rating filters are handled separately?

The players I tried to challenge were COJIMAR and forp.
