In v3, all messages are saved. Maybe archiving the ones that are generic might help. Though, the message searching might find both and I don't know if accepted friend requests get archived automatically or stay in your inbox.

I would like to request a feature that would save friend request messages that are different from the baseline "please add me as a friend"
This would make it easier to search for newly added friends (or even add this feature!)
