Stopping Messages.

You can blog CHESScom?b I tried to, but it says you can't block staff members/moderators.
I don't think you can turn off site messages but you can turn off messages from pretty much anyone (maybe not admins/staff).
You can turn off messages in your privacy settings, http://www.chess.com/home/privacy, and limit some stuff in your alerts http://www.chess.com/home/alerts

I think it would be a good idea if a user would be able to block the sender of the news about Team Matches, Vote Chess Games, etc. (i.e. CHESScom). For instance, if I am going on vacation, I would be able to stop the overflow of messages from the various groups and teams I am in.
It used to much easier--one could just shut of all alerts for every single alert. Why not bring this option back?
i have 174 mesages now

If you want to block news etc from a group go to the alerts
I know, but if I am in 70 groups it will take a lot of time to turn of all the alerts. And to turn them back on.

I used to have 1100 messages in my inbox once.
I decided to delete about 20 messages a day, which is a managable amount.
I got back to 0 in a couple of weeks.

I have 11940. I've genuinely given up...
